"At least a half-dozen other worlds (besides the Earth) that might have life are in our solar system," Seth Shostak, senior astronomer with the California-based SETI Institute in the US, was quoted as saying in media reports.
"The chances of finding it, I think, are good and if that happens, it will happen in the next 20 years, depending on the financing," Shostak added.
He shared his findings at a Congressional science committee in Washington recently.
Currently, scientists are following three paths in their search for alien life in the universe.
Prominent among them has been the search for life on Mars and the Moon.
To look for signs of life on distant planets, some scientists have focused on scanning the atmosphere of these planets with the hope of finding signs of oxygen or methane, gases which are mostly tied to life on earth.
The third path has been the search for technologically advanced aliens that are sending radio or other signals out into space, Discovery News reported.
"The fact that we have not found anything means nothing. We have only just begun to search," Shostak added.
A new e-book from NASA also discusses whether it might be simpler than expected to communicate with aliens, should they ever make contact.
Scientists say communicating with alien life may be similar to using the Rosetta Stone to crack ancient languages.
The Rosetta Stone is a Ptolemaic age granodiorite stele inscribed with a decree issued at Memphis in 196 BCE on behalf of King Ptolemy V.
My interpretation regarding the aliens or super natural powers in outer space, according to the emergence of Dharmaswaroopam and his coordinated vision as Samanvayadrusti happened as natural phenomena in the presence of some of the Agricultural Scientists and other staff, latest as on 2003 January 1st 2003. this happened as like a volcanic eruption, that all the happenings of nearly 10 years from 2003 to 2013 are said in one and half hour or so on that day which contains like sunami and other social happenings, political happenings, along with film songs, dialogues and tv serial title songs, world emerged in the from of my word and happened accordingly. The world we existed today is being motivated are decided by some power through me in one day one and half hour, Scientists witnessed, are not cooperated with me to take keenly and constructively of what happened through me in their presence, the media and film personalities are also not responded to my communication straightforwardly as on, however showing indirect response, by taking some inspiration out of me, and waiting and expecting to come forward by my self, as they are feeling that I am dominating on them, by claiming their their performance and excellence is my gift as Dharmaswaroopam. In this situation I am requesting all my contemporaries, to understand my alien mind which has able to contain all the details in the form of thinking, which is the seed quality. to give new explanations required to the human society to how to take this world, in the present situation, this needs keen taking of the details of happenings of the world through my thinking and by comparing and correlating them with standard explanations as on available on the land.
